A lovely jem in wynwood, this amazing place is a fusion of Latin and Japanese cuisine.we came for the open table tasting event that left us with a full and happy belly and wanting more. I wish every bite could last longer, an amazing explosion of flavors and umami bomb. The ambiance was casual and sleek. The drinks and adult beverages were phenomenal. I highly recommend this establishment. From their amazingly affordable happy hour menu to their omakase tasting. That would surely deliver a wonderful diaspora of culinary delights.
Had an absolutely amazing experience at Uchi! My boyfriend and I decided to celebrate our anniversary here and were definitely not disappointed. We ordered a variety of items and loved every single one of them. I highly recommend stopping in during happy hour that way you're able to try a variety of dishes at a great price. My personal favorite dish of the night was the Suika, it was so good I had to order another one! The wagyu ringo was good and so was the bluefin zuke. The fish was incredibly fresh and all of the food was super flavorful. We couldn't forget about dessert! The fried milk was unlike anything i've ever had. It was sweet and salty making it the perfect way to end our meal. The service was great and the ambiance of the restaurant was intimate which was nice. The only thing I didn't particularly love was only getting one menu to share between the two of us, it was bit inconvenient. We will definitely be back soon!
With the global trend toward the flashy, the celebrity-sponsored, and the logo-obsessed dominating fashion, entertainment and food, it's nice to see the antidote where there's respect toward craftmanship, thoughtful presentation and celebrating simplicity by highlighting carefully selected materials and ingredients. Uchi is the quiet luxury of Japanese restaurants in a city that tends to mindlessly support the next, shiny object. This was my second time showing up for Uchi's incredible happy hour and staying for the epic fare for a light dinner afterward. The delicate fish was very fresh like it jumped from the sea and melted in my mouth coating it with its briny, nourishing goodness. The elegantly presented tuna hand roll was the perfect mouth feel contrast between the brittle seaweed and the finely cubed seafood. The dining room is beautiful with soft lighting and blush and plush textiles. The already attractive Miami crowd looked even better in this setting. Service at the bar was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Other restaurants in the city please take note on how attention to detail, well selected ingredients and a sumptuous mood, rather than the gimmick du jour, will keep well heeled patrons coming back gladly.
Great ambiance and food .. at the bar la vida es más sabrosa !! Can't wait to come back! Service is top notch! Thank you. Nick.
I absolutely loved every sushi and dessert I had here. I love the simple and authenticity of the sushi and sashimi. It's so hard to come across authentic Japanese sushi that does not have fusion of other cuisines because Japanese food should be strictly seafood, refreshing and simple. Not with added cream cheese, filling and toppings that cause too much bloating. Maybe I'm just picky, but definitely love this place. The atmosphere is quite perfect for a date or even a get together. Service was quick especially at the bar table since you have the chefs in front
Absolutely yes, Uchi is worth it. Went here for a work dinner and it was outstanding. Ordering is a bit of an adventure because it's a big menu with lots going on. We weren't in a tasting menu mood so we just ordered a wide smattering. Memorable dishes include: -octopus roll which was incredible -maitake special which was unlike anything I've ever had -crudo which was outstanding and so tasty Everything we had was great. Service was outstanding. Our server was super on point and attentive. Drinks were great as well, I had a rosemary Cocktail that was lovely. The vibes are good, not pretentious. We really enjoyed our time. I would definitely return as Uchi exceeded my expectations.
Delicious bites at this minimalist, Japanese sushi spot in the heart of Wynwood. I chose to order a la carte and I am so glad because it came out to a very reasonable price! The taki makimono(sushi roll) was my favorite roll! It had octopus which I've never had in a roll before and was crunchy, fresh, and unique. The spicy tuna and snow crab rolls on the other hand I wouldn't order again. The tuna was a pretty bland and basic roll for $17. Definitely get the hama chilli it was melt in your mouth yellowtail with the perfect burst of mandarin citrus flavor. The sake toro crudo had beautiful presentation and delicious salmon but it was such a small plate for $23. The best ratio of food to price was the chicken karaage! Huge wooden bucket of filling chicken perfectly marinated and melt in your mouth. Would highly recommend I've rarely had chicken that juicy. My favorite bites of the night were individual nigiri pieces- kinoko mushroom (so meaty and yummy), the gyutoro short rib succulent, seared and savory just melted, and the foie gras which was so thick, rich and umami. Definitely 10/10 for presentation and overall experience! A few bites didn't land but the ones that did were mouthwatering and unique combos I had never tried before!
I recently dined at Uchi Wynwood and had a wonderful experience. The minimalistic Japanese zen atmosphere is serene, and the attentive service enhances the meal. The happy hour omakase is a great value, concluding with a satisfying dessert. Notable dishes include the exclusive dorsal fin of flounder, rich chopped wagyu sushi, flavorful Spanish anchovies, crispy spring rolls with spicy ponzu, and fresh Hamachi yellowtail sashimi. Uchi Wynwood is a must-visit for exceptional food and ambiance.
Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and could not be happier with this experience. And when I say it's an experience, it really was. We were a group of 6 and we had the best server by the name of Kai. He was so knowledgeable and patient and funny and just had so much customer service it really made the experience all the more enjoyable. Each of us ordered our own dishes and he had no problem splitting our checks. After doing my research and reading several reviews, I decided to order: the Akami Crudo, the Tako Maki, the Sake Toro Nigiri, the Hama Chili, the Sake Toro Crudo and then we got the Fried Milk dessert to share. Kai broke down the menu for us and explained the most popular dishes, which we would like based off our own personal preferences, and even gave us free dishes. When I say he was the best, he really was. He recommended the chefs tasting and I do want to try that next time. The food portions are smaller than let's say a sushi chain restaurant in a strip mall, but this is a gourmet experience. I thought the portions and the pricing were completely fair. As for my dishes, I would say they were all delicious. They all had such unique flavors I would have never thought would pair so well. The Hama Chili or the Sake Toro Crudo are my top choices I think. As for the fried milk dessert.... Get it. You never had nor never will again have a dessert as good as this one. 5/5 experience I cannot wait to come back here. Truly a memorable dinner.
I was expecting Uchi to be overly fancy like a lot of the other upscale restaurants in Miami, but that wasn't the case at all! It's definitely a pricy meal but the food is so great, it's worth it. Would recommend getting a mix of raw seafood dishes (super small, only a few bites per person) and a few bigger plates like the fried chicken. The fried chicken ($15) was a great portion and was so delicious! I'd come just for that. Get a few sides of sushi rice and you have a meal! The mushroom dish was unique and wonderful! The Uchi salad is special -- packages of lettuce with a yummy dressing and a crunch
